I couldn’t wait to unpack this back and side set. Everything I had ordered from CT had met or exceeded my expectations……and this set was exactly the same.
Very generous thickness in the back set which means I get some extra slices from it 🙂
The figuring was very even and silky, grain is straight too…..a very good example of a premium back for an archtop.
One of the 1st things I did after unpacking was to get my Wagner moisture meter out and test the wood……nicely dried wood.
For this piece of wood I am making a premium 17″ archtop; for a back this nice I will be using a top I have kept aside for over 20 years….it is the most stunning bearclaw archtop I have ever seen and will be a perfect mate for this back and side set. My client will be very happy indeed.
Having purchased several tops and backs from CT I have every confidence that you will not be disappointed in their products or service.
