This 10 mm thick drop top for electric guitar is cut from a single log that exhibits a rare transition: a well-defined curly figure that, in certain areas, develops into spalting.

For clarity, we include three detailed photos:

• One showing the spalted figure at the joint edge.
• One showing the curly figure at the joint edge.
• One showing the end grain.

This allows the luthier to evaluate both joint orientations and select the one that best suits the instrument’s design.

One of the photos also provides precise plate dimensions in mm.

⚠ Technical note: The spalted sections are naturally softer and less dense than the curly areas and may require additional stabilization or careful handling during machining, jointing, and finishing.
