Aditional Information

Black Poplar Double Bass Set – 4/4

Naturally air-dried Black Poplar (Populus nigra) harvested in the Carpathian Mountains.

The set includes a well-seasoned two-piece back with a joint edge thickness of 60 mm.
The pattern shown measures 1150 mm in length and 345 mm width at the lower bout, suitable for building a 4/4 double bass.

The set also includes three matching ribs, each 4 mm thick and 240 mm wide.

Black Poplar has long been used for double basses thanks to its light weight, warm tonal response, and excellent workability. It is particularly appreciated for instruments where a quick response and mellow character are desired.
